[Hiv-std-prevention] HIV Prevention Essentials Training is LIVE!

Dear HIV Prevention Partners,

Over the past several months, OHA has been working to update the HIV Prevention Essentials Training and Introduction to STI Partner Services - which as you may know had been dependent on the use of Adobe Flash Player. Adobe no longer updates or distributes Flash Player as of December 31, 2020.

After many months of hard work, the OHA HIV Prevention Program is excited to announce that as of June 18th 2021,  the updated HIV Prevention Essentials training is now available on our website<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/DISEASESCONDITIONS/HIVSTDVIRALHEPATITIS/HIVPREVENTION/Pages/Trainings.aspx>. Training modules are no longer dependent on Flash Player, vary in length and are completed at your own pace. Most modules can be completed within 30 to 60 minutes and a certificate of completion is available at the end of the training.

HIV Prevention Essentials meets the training requirements described in Program Element #07 for staff conducting HIV testing funded by the Oregon Health Authority, HIV Prevention Program. The training includes new information about HIV testing and recommendations, prepares staff to offer accurate information and key messages about a variety of topics, including HIV Basics, sexual orientation and gender identity, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) and risk reduction strategies for people who use or inject drugs.
