On behalf of the National Network of Disease Intervention Training Centers (NNDITCs) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, I am excited to begin this new year with the announcement of the first of four new disease intervention learning collaboratives:

Cultural Humility: An Approach to Working with People Who Use Drugs

Wednesday, January 12, 2022 (with additional sessions forthcoming on February 9, and March 9)

This learning collaborative is for Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) who are working with people who use drugs (PWUD) and are diagnosed with an STI/HIV. This collaborative will address the three principles of cultural humility, motivational interviewing, and person-focused Harm Reduction. Participants will apply these concepts to case scenarios to develop appropriate strategies and referral options for PWUD.
