Title: This is the House that Love Built: Exploring The History of Gender Diversity and HIV Prevention
CoP Description: This Community of Practice (CoP) will provide participants with a brief history of ballroom culture, and its important role in providing access to HIV care and prevention to Black and Latinx Transgender and Non-binary communities. Participants will leave this session with ideas on how to utilize ballroom activities to both collaborate with and engage Transgender and Non-binary folks of Color in programming.
Learning Objectives

  *   Review a brief history of Ballroom Culture, and the important role it has in celebrating and uplifting Black and Latinx Transgender and Non-binary communities.
  *   Discuss the strong connection between HIV/AIDS prevention work amongst LGBTQ folks of Color and Ballroom culture.
  *   Describe how community-based organizations (CBO's) can use ballroom activities to collaborate, engage and build rapport with Transgender and Non-binary communities of Color.
