Our next virtual Learning Collaborative is scheduled for 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Pacific Time on Tuesday, December 19th. This session is titled Supporting HIV+ Peers and Volunteers in the Workplace. People living with HIV can bring a unique perspective and motivation to HIV and Aging services.  Peers understand what it is like to live and age with HIV and can support clients by sharing their firsthand experiences. Additionally, more and more older adults are re-entering the workforce.



Together we will focus on how to build inclusive, supportive environments for people living with HIV over 50 in the workplace from hiring, protection, development, and retention practices. Our panel of experts will highlight inclusive hiring practices, maintaining confidentiality, building inclusion, and promoting professional development for people aging with HIV. After the panel, we’ll open it up for Q&A and breakout discussions to dive deeper into these topics.

After this Learning Collaborative, attendees should be able to:

  1.  Summarize one recruitment strategy to include people aging with HIV in the workplace.
  2.  Understand how to maintain confidentiality and self-disclosure for colleagues living and aging with HIV.
  3.  Describe how to maintain boundaries and resolve conflict in the workplace.
  4.  Explain one method to support professional development of people aging with HIV in the workplace.
