On October 6th, 2023, we celebrate National Disease Investigation Specialist (DIS) Recognition Day! We are honored to take a moment to show our appreciation and gratitude to the staff that are conducting STD/HIV case investigation across Oregon, and the United States.
The incredible staff carrying out this work represent the very best of public health and disease prevention efforts. As public health faces unprecedented obstacles, DIS continue to define dedication, resilience, and compassion for the communities they support. The vital role of DIS staff in preventing the spread of disease and promoting health and wellness is the very foundation of public health.
It is our distinct privilege to highlight the importance of DIS and all public health professionals who conduct case investigations.
In the face of recent and continuous challenges, it is more important than ever that these staff are recognized for their grace and determination. We thank you all for your daily commitment to public health!
