We are delighted that our first session will be led by Dr Casey Pinto, Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences Division of Epidemiology at Penn State University. Dr Pinto's research primarily focuses on rural/urban disparities in health outcomes, specifically sexually transmitted infections. Dr Pinto is also the Associate Medical Director for the York City Bureau of Health and practices clinically as a nurse practitioner in infectious disease with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This allows her to bring a unique perspective combining her work in academia with her work in the field.

In this session, Dr Pinto will discuss:

  *   The unique challenges faced in Pennsylvania and the state's rural/urban divide
  *   Pennsylvania STI data, and social determinants/barriers to STI prevention - including factors such as drug use and STIs, or migrant workers and STIs
  *   The use of mobile health clinics, vending machines and remote testing to improve access to services

Attendees will have the opportunity to ask Dr Pinto questions, sharing learnings and best practice.
