<a href="https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/emerging_hydrocarbon.html"><span style="color:#455CB4">renewable diesel</span></a> to replace traditional diesel or biodiesel blends. Often called “green diesel”, biodiesel and renewable diesel are both derived from living
biomass sources but have differing refining processes. Because of this difference, renewable diesel is chemically identical to petroleum diesel and can be used at higher percentage blends than biodiesel. Specifically, agencies have access to R99, meaning the
fuel is comprised of 99 percent renewable diesel and one percent petroleum diesel, as opposed to B20, which is 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent petroleum diesel. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
