[IWRS] Issue Papers (version 2); Next Policy Advisory Group Mtg (1/5/11)

Good Afternoon,

During the Water Resources Commission meeting last week, project team members rolled out a new version of the Integrated Water Resources Strategy Issue Papers.  These papers were first released for public comment during Fall 2009 and serve as the "problem statement" portion for the Strategy.  The project team has incorporated many of the suggested changes received from the public, stakeholders, state and federal partners - resulting in entirely new essays and additional background information.

More work is needed to fully develop certain concepts or issues.  Sections that we believe still need more detail or discussion are highlighted throughout the papers and we welcome your assistance on these or other sections.  These papers are open to public review and comment until March 1, 2011 - available on the IWRS project website:    http://www1.wrd.state.or.us/pdfs/November_18_2010_Issue_Papers_v2.pdf

Also, the next Policy Advisory Group meeting will be held in Salem on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.  The meeting will focus on fine-tuning a list of issues that are critical to address in the first round of the Strategy (2012-2017), as well as brainstorming potential recommended actions.  An agenda will be sent out prior to the meeting.
