[IWRS] Funding for Natural Resources & IWRS Implementation

Good Afternoon,

The Governor’s Natural Resources Office has prepared several budget memos describing 2013-15 funding proposals that support Oregon’s natural resource programs, including implementation of Oregon’s Integrated Water Resources Strategy.  These memos describe investments in water resources management & development, water quality programs, and water-related monitoring.

The Co-Chairs' Budget for 2013-15<http://www.leg.state.or.us/comm/lfo/2013-2015/2013-15JWMCo-ChairsBudget_030413.pdf> proposes to maintain this level of investment for natural resource agencies.

Budget hearings have been scheduled for the agencies tasked with development of the Strategy.  Note that the budget hearing for the Oregon Department of Agriculture was held in late February.  Upcoming hearings are as follows:

Ways and Means Subcommittee on Natural Resources (H-170 @ 1:00pm)

Oregon Water Resources Department

March 25 – 28

Oregon Department of Environmental Quality

April 1 – 4

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife

April 8 – 11
