Join the FUN - 91 schools have registered so far for Oregon's Walk and Bike to School Day!

That's right, as of right now we have ninety- one schools from across the state who will be participating in Oregon's version of International Walk and Bike to School Day. More are coming in each day!!

If you haven't registered yet, you have until September 17 to sign up your school. Go to www.walknbike.org and sign on. On the site you can check out which other schools have signed up. Also be sure to download the link "coordinator packet for tips on how to run Walk + Bike to School Day for your school" to get more information on how to have a successful event.

All across the world on October 8 school children and their parents will join together to walk or bike to school. Oregon is proud to be a major player in this international event that is part of a worldwide movement to encourage children to be more active. Walk and Bike to School Day is the capstone event for Safe Routes to School programs, a movement for which Oregon serves as a leader and innovator.

Be sure to register by September 17 to be part of your city's group that will be working with the statewide Walk and Bike Committee to promote walking and biking to school and throughout your community all year long.

Please pass along to anyone who might be interested in working with their school on Walk and Bike to School Day!
