The Nutrition Council of Oregon is launching a campaign to raise parents' awareness about junk food marketing aimed at children.

Did you know that the average child sees 40,000 ads a year?
Half of all ads are for food? And 97% of food ads are for foods high in sugar, fat and salt?

Posters will be going up in medical and dental clinics, and day cares around the state. Interior bus ads will appear on 200 Trimet buses beginning mid - October.

A social media campaign using Facebook will also be launched. This is where you come in. We need 1,000 "fans" on our Facebook site to qualify for an official short www. page name. Otherwise we will have to print our current, long site name on our materials when we go to print next week. Our fan base is growing, but we need your help to reach 1,000. If you are a Facebook user, please click here http://www.facebook.com/pages/Too-Many-Ads/141588093547?ref=nf
(our current site name) to become a fan. Feel free to ask your family and friends to do the same.

Thanks,
Jennifer
