I second Jane’s recommendation. Very fun and rewarding!

But anybody who has done it can tell you how rewarding of an experience it is. I highly recommend it.

Hi everyone,

Fun fact! CSD has these things called bylaws (weird, right?) that I didn’t read in close enough detail before I sent that e-mail. The Lampman Chair has to have served on the committee at least once. Which narrows the pool of volunteers and nominees down A LOT. Argh!

Hello children’s librarians!

Do you know someone enthusiastic and organized who wants to get involved with CSD? Are you willing and able to take on a leadership role in the division? You’re in luck, because CSD’s Lampman Award Committee is in need of a chairperson for fy2015/16!

What is the Lampman Award? Our website can tell you all about it on the Lampman Award page: http://www.csdola.org/lampman-award.html

So you know what you (or your colleague) would be getting into: You’d be in charge of soliciting and receiving nominations for the award, getting the committee together to select the winner, and preparing the award presentation for the Lampman Breakfast at the 2016 OLA Conference in Bend. The Lampman Chair is also a member of the CSD Executive Board, so you’d also be expected to attend the two annual board meetings in person or virtually.

If you’d like to nominate someone or volunteer for the position, please e-mail me with:

• Name

• Library affiliation

• Explanation of awesomeness

As always, let me know if you have any questions!
