Hi Folks, I send a monthly email about free webinars to school library staff via two listservs, and I thought I?d share an updated version of this month?s post with you since there?s a lot of overlap and because several sessions are geared towards library staff who work with children or teens. Much of the information about this month?s webinars that are not specific to Oregon is available on this WebJunction page. Session descriptions and registration links are organized by date and are available starting about halfway down the WebJunction webpage. There?s also the State Library LibGuide about continuing education, which has a calendar of events. You are welcome to bookmark those pages. In black text below are some (but not all) relevant offerings listed on the WebJunction page. Intermingled within is information specific to the Gale statewide databases for youth (*orange) or that seems relevant but is otherwise not on the WebJunction list (+purple). Specifically, I wanted to highlight the affinity group sessions below that are offered regularly. Many webinars will be recorded. Cheers, Jen P.S. Also, the Oregon Reader?s Choice Award committee is seeking titles for readers in grades 3-12. The nomination form will be available until December 31st. WEBINARS * *Gale offers national webinars related to our statewide databases; while none are available this month, recordings of past webinars and brief video tutorials are always available to view; you need your Location ID (= first part of your Gale login) to access info on the Gale national support site; ask me for it (Sign up for the Curriculum Corner newsletter.)* * +Check Right to Be?s training calendar for multiple sessions about how bystanders can intervene to disrupt situations of harassment, bullying, and hate.
