issue of <i>People</i> magazine has several articles about bullying. One
is about Daniel Harrison, a former bully who now befriends those being
bullied. While serving detention for his bullying, he stumbled upon Ben
Mikaelsen’s <i>Touching Spirit Bear</i>, and after reading it said, “I realized
who I was, and I hated it.” The next school year when he participated in
Letters About Literature as a class assignment, he wrote to Mikaelsen about his
transformation and wound up with the top LAL prize for his age category in his
state. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
