I am the new Library and Bookstore Liaison for the Oregon Chapter of the Society of Children's Book Authors and Illustrators (SCBWI).</font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><font face="helvetica" size="2"><br></font></p><p class="MsoNormal"><font face="helvetica" size="2">I'm excited to take on this position and </font><span style="font-family:helvetica">have been working on ways to connect Oregon's vibrant community of children's authors and illustrators with local librarians and teachers. One opportunity I'm particularly excited about is our New Release flyer. </span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><font face="helvetica" size="2">
</font><br><span style="font-family:helvetica">Each spring and fall we compile this list to keep you
informed of upcoming new releases. All titles are by trade publishers and
available through the major distributors. The list also includes contact
information for authors and illustrators interested in doing events.<br>

1971, the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators is the only
international organization specifically for authors and illustrators of

authors and illustrators published by traditional publishing houses are

Board of Advisors includes some of the most prestigious names in children’s
literature and there are currently more than 22,000 members worldwide in over
70 regional chapters.<span></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b><span style="font-family:helvetica;color:rgb(38,38,38)">Our Mission</span></b><span style="font-family:helvetica;color:rgb(38,38,38)"> is to support the
creation and availability of quality children’s books around the world and act
as a consolidated voice for writers and illustrators of children’s books
worldwide. The SCBWI not only sponsors multiple conferences and events,
providing its members with vital information on writing craft and business, it
also presents many grants and awards including the annual <b>Golden Kite Award</b> for the best fiction and nonfiction and the <b>Sid Fleischman Award for Humor.</b><span></span></span></p>
