Hi everyone,

I have the privilege of guest-editing the Fall 2017 of the Oregon Library Association Quarterly. This issue’s theme will be “Small Libraries, Big Ideas”, wording courtesy of OLA Communications Committee Chair Charles Wood. Would you like
to write for the OLA Quarterly? In case you don’t know, the OLAQ is an official publication of the Oregon Library Association. It showcases the work of authors who work or are interested in Oregon Libraries.

Many people likely already know that small and rural libraries are dear to my heart; my very first library job was in one of the smallest public libraries in the state,
Langlois Public Library on the south coast. There are a whole lot of libraries of all types in Oregon, and the vast majority of you are small or rural. The Fall 2017 issue is dedicated to the big work you’re doing
at those small and rural libraries, whether you’re at a public, academic, school, or special library or simply live in or love a rural community. Have you worked in a small and/or rural library and would like to share your experience? Do you have an awesome
project you’d to share with the larger Oregon library community? Do you think that you serve your community in particularly unique and interesting ways? We’d like to hear from you!

me a brief, 150-word proposal at bnielsen@crooklib.org. The submission and publication schedule for this issue is:
