<a href="https://oregonask.org/">Oregon Ask</a> team, which works to support kids out of school in Oregon, recently researched opportunities for afterschool for Oregon kids. They found many Oregon kids cannot access an afterschool program in their area, due
to both cost and availability. This is one reason why school age programs can be such a critical component of library services! The attached one pager gives the highlights, but the full report is linked below and may be useful as your libraries work to offer
school age programming during afterschool hours and during summer, or as you work to partner with folks already doing afterschool in your communities.

students from underserved communities are least likely to participate in afterschool because of accessibility, cost, and cultural barriers. And yet, youth from underserved communities also demonstrate the most benefits from afterschool programs. The very youth
that face the biggest barriers to accessing afterschool stand to gain the most from it.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
