<p class="MsoNormal">Some of you may have seen the below press release about ODE food assistance. Oregon will be able to offer food assistance to about 65% of our kids and teens statewide for the 2020-2021 school year. Hunger is such a significant issue for
our communities and we know it’s been a tough year for food access. I’ve been getting some questions about summer food site locations and wanted to let you know that as districts are figuring out summer plans – and still in the midst of wrapping up a challenging
year – summer meal sites have not been finalized, just like everything else! I think the soundtrack to the pandemic must include Tom Petty’s Waiting is the Hardest Part.

In the meantime, if you worked with a meals site last year and haven’t had a chance to check in with those folks, it may be a good time to check in with them.
