<p class="MsoNormal">So at Eugene Public Library we do have a gaming console set up in our Teen Center, which serves 13-19. We just rolled it out on Saturday, but so far it’s working well! We essentially have a “free-play” system all day. Teens do not need
to have a library card to play, but we do ask for either a library card, photo ID, or student ID as a means for “checking out” the controllers. All our games are multiplayer and rated no higher than T. We also don’t let kids log on to their own accounts while
at the library. I think that pretty much covers it! We’ll use the gaming consoles in programming at some point, but right now it’s just free play. When we are hosting a program free play will of course be suspended.
