<p class="MsoNormal">I agree with the other responses – I also wouldn’t advertise specific books ahead of time. I think the simplest answer to give a patron is that you choose books based on the audience that shows up. I tend to choose books the day of/the
day before from my stack of options, and a lot of it depends on my mood or what types of stories worked well with the previous week’s audience. Having more flexibility leads to a more engaging, dynamic storytime!<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">I used to create a flyer day-of that listed my stories and songs, to encourage adult participation, let people know what to expect from the storytime, and help them find the books to check out. I haven’t done this since pre-covid but occasionally
think about bringing it back (although I don’t miss the added work). But I don’t think posting a list in advance accomplishes any of these goals! I’d be wary of someone trying to restrict/censor what you choose.<o:p></o:p></p>

and the energy of the room. Some days are shorter book days for shorter attention spans. Children might be older or calmer another day, and then you can read a longer book. Every day is different, so I don't lock yourself into books that you'd rather not read. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

advance, I always select more than I plan to read and then decide what I’m reading based on the ages and energy level of the kids that particular day. And even if I did announce all the potential books in advance (which isn’t a way I would prioritize my time
in my busy schedule), sometimes plans change for various other reasons. I think announcing ahead of time opens us up to all sorts of complaints, the least of which could even be a disappointed kid that didn’t get to hear the story they were hoping to hear,
the most of which could be calls for banning books.<o:p></o:p></p>
