Welcome Lydia,
Douglas County does not plan to apply during the first
year. Much like other counties we have a number of items that need to
be completed prior to the application process. Needs assessment,
completion of strategic planning, and QI. Parts and pieces have
started, but are not complete.
There are many challenges in rural Oregon with not only
reductions in federal and state dollars, but in county support for
Public Health.
Again welcome.

Subject: [LHDAccreditation] Introduction
Good morning!
I would like to introduce myself to the group. I am the newly hired
Performance Improvement Manager for the Infrastructure grant. Been in
this position for about three weeks, one of which was spent traveling to
Atlanta! Prior to this role, I was the PHD Transformation Project
Manager, leading our divisional participation in developing continuous
quality improvement skills and capacity. Truly love CQI and am excited
to expand my world and understanding to the public health system level.
Question for you! How are the LHDs feeling about accreditation and
applying once the effort is officially launched? I imagine there is a
range of experience, just like within PHD.
Looking forward to learning from and with you. These are exciting times
for public health.
Lydia
