*What is TRAIN?*

TRAIN <https://www.train.org/DesktopShell.aspx> (or TrainingFinder
Real-time Affiliated Integrated Network) is the nation’s premier learning
management network for public health professionals. TRAIN provides a robust
clearinghouse of on-site training and distance learning opportunities
available in local, state, and national jurisdictions. ****

 ****

TRAIN houses information on over 29,000 public health courses offered by
more than 4,000 providers. Visit www.TRAIN.org <https://www.train.org/> to
start searching courses. TRAIN is currently used by over 25 states, the
CDC, and the Medical Reserve Corps.****

** **

TRAIN is *available at no cost to any local health department or other user
in the state* of Oregon. It includes user-friendly tracking and reporting
tools that will be really helpful for implementing a workforce development
plan and documenting workforce development for domain 8 of accreditation.

*
*

*Who should have administrative access in TRAIN?*

Different functions within TRAIN have different administrative privilege
settings. For accreditation, the most important feature is accessing and
exporting reports about training completion, including training completion
by core competency. This would make sense for the accreditation manager or
a staff person overseeing the workforce development plan. Other
administrative roles (posting courses, hosting conference registration,
etc.) can be given to the same person or other staff members.

If you have specific questions about TRAIN, please contact Sam Bakkila,
