The MAPP network allows members to share experiences, ideas, innovations, and lessons learned.

In order to streamline our communications, NACCHO’s Performance Improvement team will be implementing several changes to our current online forums and e-newsletters, as follows:

  *   We will be combining the MAPP Update and AccreditNATION into one monthly newsletter, PI Compass. As a member of the MAPP Network, you will automatically be added to the PI Compass distribution list IF you are in NACCHO’s database. NACCHO Seeking Speakers for National MAPP Trainings

Have you led your community through at least one cycle of MAPP? Would you like to share your successes and lessons learned with other public health professionals who are new to MAPP? We are seeking speakers for our MAPP trainings. As a core part of our curriculum we bring in stories from the field to share their experience with participants. Commitment will vary, but may entail 1 to 2 trips per year (typically 3 days with travel). NACCHO will pay all travel costs and a per diem for meals.

National Leadership Academy for the Public’s Health (NLAPH) accepting applications for its Year 7 Cohort

Communities engaging in cross-sector work to improve the public’s health, especially those that could be boosted through a community leadership process, are encouraged to apply. NACCHO now accepting Model Practices submissions

Are you ready to share your best and brightest work with your health department colleagues? NACCHO’s 2018 Model & Promising Practices program honors and recognizes outstanding local health initiatives from across the nation, and shares and promotes these practices among local health departments via the Model Practice Database. Model and Promising Practices cut across all areas of local public health, including community health, environmental health, public health infrastructure and systems, and public health preparedness.

A Model Practice meets the following criteria: LHD role, collaboration, innovation, responsiveness, and evaluation. A Promising Practice exhibits the potential to become a Model Practice, and meets the same criteria of a Model Practice, with some qualitative and quantitative evidence that the practice has potential to improve health outcomes.

Submissions can be made online only at www.naccho.org/resources/model-practices. A webinar with general information on applying for the awards will be held at 12pm Eastern on Friday, November 17.
