ASTHO encourages health department leaders and performance improvement staff to join this upcoming webinar focused on using innovative strategies to support plan implementation and alignment.



Effective state health improvement plans (SHIP) must simultaneously accomplish numerous goals. In addition to engaging public health and community partners, these ambitious plans must be evidence-based and data-driven while addressing health equity and, ideally, aligning with similar plans from local and tribal health departments and non-profit hospitals. As many states advance in the next cycle of SHIP planning, the evidence base for new approaches is lacking. Leaders in the field are seeking innovative strategies to support plan alignment, enhance shared implementation, and ultimately foster mutual accountability and positive health outcomes.

This webinar will feature Cara Biddlecom and Liz Gharst from the Oregon Health Authority and Lora Santilli and Priti Irani from the New York State Department of Health. Together with ASTHO, the panelists will discuss strategies to enhance the development and implementation of state health improvement plans by:

  *   Assisting and encouraging states as they implement and align their improvement plans
  *   Providing best and promising practices for effective plan implementation
  *   Creating a forum for states to ask questions and receive immediate feedback
