[Libs-Or] Libraries as Literacy Centers Opportunity

World Education and the American Library Association is seeking libraries to participate in their Libraries as Literacy Centers Initiative.

This project that will support libraries in enhancing their role to support adult and family literacy as:

  *   literacy centers (providing literacy programming)
  *   places of instruction (providing space for other community orgs)
  *   literacy conveners (serving as a hub that streamlines literacy services across the community)

Participating libraries will receive a small 3-year grant to develop and implement an action plan. Throughout the three years, they'll be collaborating with a professional learning community and receiving customized technical assistance.
