ACRL Oregon Seeks an Interim Legislative Board of Directors Rep
Interested in learning more about the connection between Oregon legislation and academic libraries? We seek an interim to finish out the ACRL OR Legislative Representative appointment. The Legislative Representative<https://acrloregon.org/about-acrl-oregon/position-descriptions/legislative/> facilitates knowledge of and involvement in local, state, and federal public policy issues for the ACRL-OR board and membership. The term ends September 2025, with an option to renew. (Enough time to engage meaningfully and then to decide to keep going or to turn your attention elsewhere.)
Overview of Responsibilities:

Serves on the OLA Library Development and Legislative Committee, (LDLC) as an ex officio<https://www.olaweb.org/ldlc>, which meets monthly and can be attended remotely. This committee sets plans and priorities for improvement of libraries in Oregon.

Participates in Oregon Library Legislative Day, held this February 11, 2025, where librarians meet with, advocate for funding, and discuss proposed library bills with their local legislatures in Salem.
*
Advises ACRL-OR Board on legislative issues affecting Oregon libraries in higher education through email or attending Board meetings (every other month).
Term: Now until September 2025, with an option to renew
