[Libs-Or] The Librarians (Documentary): Can Vote thru 11/3 & In-Person Screenings

FYI about a chance to vote<https://cinemaeyehonors.com/audience-choice-voting/> for the documentary, The Librarians<https://thelibrariansfilm.com/>, to win a Cinema Eye Honors award. This is what Martha Hickson, a librarian in New Jersey, shared about voting: “Your vote can help raise the film's profile to activate even more audiences. Vote thru Nov 3rd as many times as you like.” (Thanks to Jean Gritter for alerting OASL members to the voting option.)

Also, there will be some in-person screenings of the film in Oregon. At the Tomorrow Theater in Portland, the 11/7<https://tomorrowtheater.org/movies/the-librarians/> showing is sold out, but a second screening is scheduled for 12/18<https://tomorrowtheater.org/movies/the-librarians-2/>. There’s also a screening at the Art House in Eugene on 11/16<https://www.eugenearthouse.com/movie/the-librarians/>, although it seems that the film may be available longer, from 11/14 - 11/20. More screenings<https://thelibrariansfilm.com/screenings/> could be added over time.

I saw the film at the AASL conference two weeks ago. Even though I knew nearly every story that was told, it was sobering to watch footage of the heated school board meetings, to hear in the librarians’ words how the book challenge situations have affected them, etc.

I’ve been asked where to stream the film, but I haven’t found it online yet. Someone told me it was available in Kanopy, but all I can find is the fiction series. I suspect that once it is available to stream, The Librarians website<https://thelibrariansfilm.com/> will indicate that.
