[Libs-Or] Adults included in Summer Reading Program

A few years back, we had an Outreach staff member that went to local businesses and got prize donations to implement an adult summer reading program. To enter, they just put their checkout receipt into a drawing box. There were separate drawing boxes for each basket. At the end of the summer, names were drawn and winners contacted. The adults LOVED it. There was good engagement. She did this for two years. When she left, our adult services librarian opted not to continue the program, and we had some really unhappy patrons. We did not do weekly incentives.

Takeaways:
-Patrons were happy and good engagement
-It was a bit of work to solicit donations
-Don't start if you're not going to continue
