Dear Library Partner,
National Library Week is rapidly approaching, and in celebration of libraries and their amazing work, PBS Books and Indie Lens Pop-Up is excited to share about an upcoming digital show: National Library Week: Celebrating Libraries & Librarians<https://www.facebook.com/events/945940741365773>, which premieres on Wednesday, April 22 at 8pm ET. The program features PBS Books and librarian Heather-Marie Montilla in conversation with American Library Association’s Executive Director Daniel Montgomery discussing the vital role of libraries in American life on our culture, civic life, and shared future. Topics include the PBS Independent Lens documentaries The Librarians, examining how librarians navigate today’s debates around access, education, and community values, and Free for All: The Public Library, which traces the movement’s inspiring history. The show also shares insights from filmmakers Kim A. Snyder, Dawn Logsdon, and Lucie Faulknor, highlighting libraries as enduring community anchors for knowledge, curiosity, and opportunity.
PBS Books offers FREE resource toolkits that libraries can share with their communities. The toolkit includes engagement guides with discussion questions, printable book lists, and more—everything needed to spark meaningful conversations and inspire learning at no added cost.
Share these FREE resources and empower your local library community: pbsbooks.org/resources<https://www.pbsbooks.org/resource-dashboard/> (go to The Librarians). If you want more regular alerts about our work, please sign up, here<https://www.pbsbooks.org/resources/>.
