[Libs-Or] A good problem to have? Plastic bag shortage

Hi all,
In terms of the environment, this seems like kind of a good problem to have, but in terms of library patrons wanting to keep their books dry on the way to the car? Not so much.
We have typically received donations of plastic shopping bags from the community, and made them available for free to the public. BUT, with the new laws going into effect, our supply has dwindled surprisingly quickly!
It feels gross to purchase plastic shopping bags for the public, but paper bags don't really do the job. They're too heavy for books, and don't do much to protect the books from the rain.
I'm curious how other libraries handle this. Do you just make patrons aware that they need to bring their own bag, going forward? Do you sell reusable bags? Please share!
