<div dir="ltr">The National Network of Libraries of Medicine, Pacific Northwest Region (NN/LM PNR) is pleased to offer the online course: "From Snake Oil to Penicillin: Evaluating Consumer Health Information on the Internet" - by popular demand, a second special session for public and other libraries in the Pacific Northwest only! Learn how to evaluate health information sites on the Internet using the following criteria: Accuracy, Authority, Bias, Currency and Coverage. <br>
<br>This course has been offered four times in the past two years and has been very well-received. Participants will receive 3 Medical Library Association continuing education contact hours that can be applied to their Consumer Health Information Specialization - <a href="http://www.mlanet.org/education/chc/">http://www.mlanet.org/education/chc/</a><br>
<br>Nikki Dettmar - Acting Education and Assessment Coordinator, will be facilitating the course. The course is asynchronous, meaning you can work at your own pace via a private class website, with the exception of a live web conference that will take place on Monday, October 20th at 10am Pacific. An optional final project is available if you an unable to attend the conference... we understand the demands of library scheduling!<br>
<br>There are only 8 remaining spaces left due to the waitlist from the previous class in July-August, and this announcement is posted to 5 state library lists. A wait list will be maintained for the next offering of the class, tenatively scheduled for January 2009.<br>
