Williams</FONT></B></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> will present</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><B> <FONT FACE="Calibri">From Private Collection to Public Access: The Gerald W. Williams Collection at the Oregon State University Libraries.</FONT></B></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> Dr. Williams will discuss his</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"> <FONT FACE="Calibri">thirty five years</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri"> of collecting, which resulted in a 3,100 volume research library on environmental and Pacific Northwest history, Native Americans, and photography; a collection of more than 15,000 historic photographs documenting forestry, landscapes, railroads, and the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in Oregon and the Pacific Northwest; several hundred maps, many of which document national forests in the Northwest; and posters and other ephemera pertaining to the U.S. Forest Service and the CCC. Williams will discuss the importance of this collection to scholarship in the region. The OSU Libraries acquired the Williams Collection and Williams’ personal papers in 2007, and has digitized selected materials over the past year (</FONT></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN><A HREF="http://digitalcollections.library.oregonstate.edu/cdm4/client/gwilliams/"><SPAN LANG="en-us"><U><FONT COLOR="#0000FF" FACE="Calibri">http://digitalcollections.library.oregonstate.edu/cdm4/client/gwilliams/</FONT></U></SPAN><SPAN LANG="en-us"></SPAN></A><SPAN LANG="en-us"><FONT FACE="Calibri">). </FONT></SPAN></P>
