Ends Soon for the 2009 OLA Conference</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Early registration for the 2009 OLA Conference
ends February 28, 2009.<span> </span>You won’t want to miss this
year’s Conference as there will not be a traditional conference in 2010.<span>
</span>This is because the Public Library Association’s National
Conference will be held in <st1:city w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Portland</st1:place></st1:city>
March 23-27, 2010. Watch for announcements of OLA Business and
networking opportunities during 2010.<br>

Registrations received by February 28<sup>st</sup> will enjoy the
early registration rate, but prompt payment is appreciated! Conference

size bed or $119 for a room with two queen size beds (plus 10% tax and
fees) Be sure to supply the attendee code of OLA2009. The hotel is

<span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: 'Times New Roman';">The
Keynote Speaker this year is Justice Betty Roberts. Betty Roberts was
the first woman on the Oregon Supreme Court, and was also the first
woman on the Oregon Court of Appeals" Oregon Court of Appeals.
Roberts' recently published memoir, <i>“</i><em><span
style="font-style: normal;">With Grit and By Grace: Breaking Trails in
Politics and Law</span>”</em>, is the story of her remarkable life, and
it describes, first-hand, the hard won accomplishments that have marked
the career of one of Oregon's most important leaders. In her keynote
session Thursday morning, Justice Roberts will share stories from her
career and from the time spent writing and researching her memoir. In
honor of her audience, Roberts will introduce us to the intricacies of
her research process and the many librarians she met along the way-all
the more reason that this session promises to inspire. Do not miss it.
