<p>Today, during debate on the FY 2009 Omnibus Appropriations bill,  the Senate rejected an amendment by Senator John McCain (R-AZ) that would have negatively impacted libraries by keeping funding at FY 2008 levels through the end of this fiscal year on September 30.</p>

<p>The Senate will continue debate on the FY 2009 omnibus with a possible vote as early as Thursday<br clear="all"></p>
