<P>The City of West Linn seeks a proven administrator to lead a vibrant and
vital part of life in West Linn - The Public Library. Serving as a member of the
City's management team and reporting directly to the City Manager, the Library
Director is responsible for overall supervision of library services; strategic
planning; preparation and management of a $1.8 million library budget; direction
and leadership of 17.6 FTE; overseeing West Linn's participation and involvement
in the Clackamas County Library District as well as representing the library to
the citizens of West Linn and to Clackamas County.</P>
<P>The successful candidate will have an MLS and four years of post MLS public
library experience, with a minimum three years of progressively responsible
library administrative experience. Candidate must possess excellent
communication skills to inspire and motivate. Requires demonstratable commitment
to a teamwork approach to management and continuing the development of community
partnerships. This position requires high energy, a sense of humor and the
ability to consider innovative approaches and build consensus on difficult
