this month, many Oregonians are asking "What is the Oregon Reads title for
2010?" </SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>As you know, there are no future plans for
another statewide community reading program. Oregon Reads was a one time
project of the Oregon Library Association to celebrate
the sesquicentennial in local libraries across the state. Oregon
Reads served as an opportunity for libraries to gain experience
conducting a community reads program, and spark interest in local reading
programs.</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Is your library interested in conducting
another local community reads, but you need funding and support
materials? </SPAN><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>The Big Read is an
excellent grant opportunity!</SPAN></DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009></SPAN> </DIV>
<DIV><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>The Big Read grant recipients
receive:</SPAN></DIV>
<UL>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>$2,500 to $20,000 to fund their
project</SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Reader's Guides--many are available in
Spanish</SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Teacher's Guides with lesson plans for
middle and high school students.</SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Audio Guides </SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Publicity materials such as posters,
banners, and bookmarks.</SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Training in working with partners,
developing a PR strategy, and other topics to help you conduct your own
community reads project.</SPAN></LI>
<LI><SPAN class=722455817-01122009><SPAN class=722455817-01122009>Recipients
must choose 1 of 30 titles available from The Big Read.
