<div>Portland Community College (PCC) Library is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a 2010 LSTA grant for the project “Expanding Library Continuing Education Opportunities for All of Oregon.” </div>
<div><font size="2"> </font></div>
<div>The goal of the grant project is to complete the foundational work for developing a coordinated program of library continuing education in the state of Oregon. Steps in this project include conducting a statewide needs assessment to determine training
needs of all levels of library staff throughout Oregon; determining how to best meet the needs identified in the assessment through a review of various modes of delivery, funding models, and best practices in place in other states; and developing a business
plan for a sustainable model to deliver library-related continuing education to all parts of the state that will be delivered as a report to the Oregon State Library. </div>

<div>Hiring will begin in January for four contract positions to carry out these activities. The primary position is the Central Coordinator, who will work 20 hours/week (1000 hours/year) based at PCC Sylvania Library in Portland. Three Regional Consultants
will be hired for approximately 250 hours/year each, located in different areas around the state. These positions will be announced on Job Line and Libs-OR.</div>
