<div><br></div><div>The Scholarly Communication Librarian will provide a leadership role within the OHSU Library and OHSU community in support of scholarly services and digital initiatives. The position will lead the Scholarly Communication Team, comprised of faculty from different library departments and the Office of the Vice President for Research. The position will provide outreach and promotional activities pertaining to the scholarly work product of students, faculty and staff at OHSU, including the promotion of the Digital Resources Library; explore new opportunities for publication; provide support services; assist individuals in interacting with editors and publishers of their work; analyze and select alternative methods of providing access; support e- science initiatives; and provide community support regarding government deposit mandates. As a member of the Library Faculty, the Scholarly Communication Librarian participates in planning, policy formation and decision-making relating to health sciences services, collections and technologies. This position requires scholarship and service that contributes to the effectiveness of the Library, the University, and the profession.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Position Conditions/Qualifications:</div><div>Required: Graduate degree from an ALA-accredited library or information science program; 3 years experience in a health sciences or academic library setting; Excellent oral and communication skills; Substantial knowledge of current trends in scholarly communication and the academic publishing industry; Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service; Experience in instruction and research consultation; Ability to manage multiple, shifting priorities; Ability to work successfully in a collaborative environment.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Preferred: Familiarity and experience with the management, development, creation, and preservation of scholarly output and digital collections; Leadership and evidence of contributions to the library profession; Knowledge of health information resources; Experience with assessment and program development; Awareness of current communication tools in health sciences research.</div>
<div><br></div><div>Rank and Salary: This is a non-tenured twelve-month faculty position at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. The Scholarly Communication Librarian reports to Emily McElroy, Head of Content Management & Systems. Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, minimum $50,000.</div>
