Hood River County's Libraries in Oregon to Celebrate Grand
Reopening

After a year without them, Hood River County, Oregon, will once
again have open libraries. The Hood River County Library
District is proud to announce the grand reopening of all three
branches in July.

The Hood River County Library, a department of Hood River
County, closed on July 1, 2010, after the failure of a May
ballot measure for the funding of a special library district. At
the November 2, 2010, General Election, the voters of Hood River
County approved the formation of a Special Library District, an
independent unit of local government dedicated to running the
libraries in Hood River County. Now, the hard work of the
community, volunteers, donors, Library Board, and Oregon library
community has come to fruition with the reopening of the
libraries.

* The Hood River branch and district grand reopening will
occur on Friday, July1st. Festivities will begin at 4.00p, with
an opening ceremony scheduled for 4.30p. Regular library
services, such as checkout and computer use, will be available
starting July 5th.
* The Parkdale branch reopening will be on Wednesday, July
6th, at 4.00p.
* The Cascade Locks branch reopening will happen on
Thursday, July 7th, at 4.30p.

All three celebrations will include entertainment, family
activities, light refreshments, and great company!
revenue (July to November), regular hours for the three
