Director to Retire</b></font></font></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font face="Baskerville Old Face, serif"><font size="4">Driftwood
Public Library announces the retirement of Library Director Sue
Jenkins on January 1, 2012. Jenkins has been Library Director at
Driftwood Public Library since 1998 and Assistant Librarian from 1980
to 1998. During her tenure as Library Director, the library added
free public internet access, wireless access throughout the facility,
and renovated the library facility, adding 5,000 square feet to the
south end of the library, creating a new Children’s Room, Community
Room, Commons gathering area, and Book Sale room. In 1994 Jenkins
created the regionally known Oregon Legacy Literary Series, which
brings Oregon authors to Lincoln City each January to meet with local
readers. The Oregon Legacy Series is the annual gift to the community
of the Friends of the Library.</font></font></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font face="Baskerville Old Face, serif"><font size="4">The
library will be hosting a retirement party for Sue on Friday,
December 30</font></font><sup><font face="Baskerville Old Face, serif"><font size="4">th</font></font></sup><font face="Baskerville Old Face, serif"><font size="4">
from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. in the Distad Reading Room at the north end
of the library. All who would like to congratulate Sue on her
retirement are welcome to attend.</font></font></p>
