Data Privacy Day</a>?<o:p></o:p></p>

</a></strong>is an annual international celebration designed to promote awareness about the many ways personal information is collected, stored, used, and shared, and to promote education about privacy practices that will enable individuals to protect their
personal information.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>ALA’s Office for Intellectual Freedom will be celebrating Data Privacy Day from January 26 through February 3, 2012 with a series of blog posts highlighting webinars, special events, and resources that libraries and librarians can use to promote an understanding
of best privacy practices and privacy rights and celebrate Data Privacy Day.<o:p></o:p></p>

the Honorable Julie Brill, Commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission. The event will be
