contain materials that are usually rare or specific to a particular
topic or geographic area. That is what makes them so special, but also
what makes them frustrating – getting access to materials that are
remote, restricted or maintained in areas not open to the public makes
working with these materials awkward and sometime impossible. But in the
last decade, the digitization of these collections has changed this
landscape dramatically. As LYRASIS became more and more involved with
helping organizations shift to a digital environment, we wanted a way to
help these digital pioneers show off what they have accomplished and
spotlight their unique special collections for others to see. Join Regan
