<p class="MsoNormal">I’m writing to give an update on the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee’s (SDLAC) progress to recommend product(s)/vendor(s) for the next procurement by the State Library. Between now and 9/23/13, Committee Members will evaluate
the proposed products from responding vendors whose written proposals have passed Round 1 and entered Round 2. During Round 2, Committee Members will evaluate recorded demos and their hands-on review of the products. We know this is a short time frame for

<p class="MsoNormal">This year the RFP included multiple categories, a strategy used by other State libraries, with the hopes of meeting as many Oregonians information needs as possible given budget constraints. The RFP called for the 4 categories listed below.

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">Categories 3 & 4: General Reference Database Package: reference works & current issues (Cat. 3: Britannica, Ebsco, Gale, Proquest, WorldBook; Cat. 4: Ebsco, Gale, Proquest)<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The SDLAC expects to make its recommendations to the LSTA Council by the end of October 2013, and a final decision on the next statewide contract will be made by State Library Board by the end of December 2013.<o:p></o:p></p>
