<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black"> <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">I write with an update about the Statewide Database Licensing Advisory Committee’s (SDLAC) recommendation of product(s)/vendor(s) for the next procurement by the State Library. Since I last wrote, Committee Members
conducted Round 2 evaluations which focused on vendor demos & hands-on review of the proposed products. This year the RFP included multiple categories, a strategy used by other State libraries, with the hopes of meeting as many Oregonians information needs
as possible given budget constraints. The RFP called for the 4 categories listed below. At the end of Round 2, scores were tallied, points were assigned to vendors who proposed in multiple categories as were points for
</span>cost proposals. The following vendors received the top scores in each category:

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in"><span style="color:black">Categories 3 & 4: General Reference Database Package: reference works & current issues (Cat. 3 & 4: Ebsco, Gale, Proquest)<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:black">After much discussion with State Library librarians and State Procurement officers, it was decided to conduct another round of evaluation</span><s><span style="color:#1F497D">s</span></s><span style="color:black">.
In this round t</span>he 3 vendors that proposed in all 4 categories have been invited to submit best and final offers on resources for all 4 categories by October 16.
<span style="color:black"> SDLAC anticipates making its recommendations to the LSTA Council by the end of October 2013 with a final decision on the next statewide contract made by State Library Board by the end of December 2013.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
