In 1990, he switched to sales as he represented Dynix to prospective customers in the Northwest and then briefly worked for WLN<span style='color:#1F497D'> </span>(Washington Library Network). In 1997, he returned to public library work at the Hillsboro Public Library and became Director in 2008.
