library staff is not always equipped with the skills to address the requests of all patrons, especially those who need to adjust their device for ease of access. The needs of patrons can range from changing the contrast on a device to starting text-to-speech.

<b><i>Gadget Menagerie</i></b> to show the accessibility features that are available out of the box.

how to access the National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped’s Braille and Audio Reading Downloads (BARD) app, which is available for Apple devices from the Washington Talking Book & Braille Library for eligible patrons. Devices include:
Kindle, Kindle Fire HD, Nook HD+, Nook Simple Touch, Galaxy Note Tablet, iPad and the Surface RT.
