<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The Children’s Services Division of the Oregon Library Association (OLA) has selected Katie Anderson to receive the 2015 Evelyn Sibley Lampman Award. Anderson is the Youth Services Consultant
 at the Oregon State Library. <o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">The award, given out annually by the Children’s Services Division of OLA, is named for Evelyn Sibley Lampman (1907-1980), noted Oregon teacher, journalist, and author of children’s books.
 The award was established in 1982 to honor an Oregon author, librarian, or educator who has made a significant contribution to Oregon in the fields of children’s literature and library services.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Katie Anderson began her work as the Youth Services Consultant at the Oregon State Library in June of 2006. Her enthusiasm, energy, and imagination, along with nine years of experience,
 have contributed to her status as a librarian </span><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">who has made a significant
<span class="wsite-text">contribution to library services for children in Oregon.</span></span><span class="wsite-text"><o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span class="wsite-text"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif""><o:p> </o:p></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span class="wsite-text"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Her accomplishments include her work with the Commission on Children and Families, with funding from the Oregon Community Foundation and the Paul G. Allen Foundation,
 to bring “Every Child Ready to Read at Your Library” training to all corners of the Oregon. She was instrumental in securing the funding and worked tirelessly with the project manager to assure an excellent learning experience for all involved.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span class="wsite-text"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">Anderson has also become an integral member of the youth-serving divisions of the Oregon Library Association. Her participation in the Collaborative Summer Library
 Program goes above and beyond representing Oregon. She has persisted in speaking up at meetings to encourage changes that affect every child who participates in summer reading.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span class="wsite-text"><span style="font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">“Her tenacity in attending meetings and gatherings that might yield a valuable partnership is legendary,” says State Librarian MaryKay Dahlgreen, who nominated
 Anderson for this award. “Katie is deeply committed to excellent library service for children and their caregivers and is an excellent spokesperson for that in all corners of our state.”
