<P>This position is located in eastern Oregon along the beautiful Columbia River. The qualified candidate has full responsibility for the operation and general supervision of the main library and the two branches, including personnel, programs and services. </P>
<P> </P>
<P>Requires considerable knowledge of professional library principles, methods and practices. Values diversity and helps to create an organizational culture that respects differences. Displays integrity, creativity and enthusiasm for library services. Plans, directs and coordinates all activities of the library and development of library facilities to best serve the needs of the community. Prepares annual budget following Oregon Budget Law. Receives and disburses accounts payable, prepares monthly budget reports for the Board. Develops and coordinates programming including pre-school, summer reading, teen and others. Evaluates the effectiveness of library service in relation to the changing needs of the community. Develops long range plans with the Library Board. Represents the District in dealings with other libraries, library associations, government agencies and the general public - is the "Face of the Library". </P>

<P>Training: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a MLIS/MLS.</P>
<P>Experience: Two years in a supervisory or management position desired.</P>
<P>Starting salary: $40,000 - $45,000 DOE</P>
