We are seeking input from all librarians and educators at all levels -- K-12, community college, and university-level -- to help provide a "snapshot" of how educators in this region are currently involved in these efforts.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;color:black">Why? Because </span><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;color:black">my colleague Mary Kelly-Klein, Instructor of Academic Literacy at MHCC, and I will be co-presenting a program, "Developmental Education Redesign, Acceleration, and Information Literacy," at the upcoming Information Literacy Summit, hosted by the Information Literacy Advisory Group of Oregon (ILAGO) on May 16, 2015, in beautiful Hood River. </span><a href="https://ilago.wordpress.com/oregon-il-summit-2015/" target="_blank"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif">https://ilago.wordpress.com/oregon-il-summit-2015/</span></a></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;color:black">If you're not sure what "developmental education" means and the current statewide redesign efforts, you might find helpful </span><font color="#000000" face="Tahoma, sans-serif"><span style="font-size:13.3333330154419px">the report for “<a href="http://education.oregon.gov/Documents/HECC/Student%20Success/10-8-14/4.0.ORDevEdFinalReport.pdf">Developmental Education Redesign: Decreasing Attrition and Time to Completion at Oregon’s Community Colleges: A Project of Oregon’s 17 Community Colleges and the Department of Community Colleges and Workforce Development</a>." In this report, the developmental education paradigm is described as "entering students whose knowledge and skills are at the pre-collegiate level, enroll them in a sequence of courses designed to build their knowledge and increase their skills, make them college-ready through these courses and then finally allow them to enroll in college-level classes."</span></font></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:12pt"><span style="font-size:10pt;font-family:Tahoma,sans-serif;color:black">
