<p class=""><span style="font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Multnomah County Library in Portland, Oregon is seeking a
full-time Bilingual Chinese Regional Librarian. The position is based at the
Midland Regional Library. In addition to Midland, you will also serve the
Holgate and Woodstock libraries. This involves weekly travel to the different
branches.</span></p>

<p class=""><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">You will work with the Collections Manager, Library Selectors and
branch staff to assess and maintain each branches adult collection,
particularly the Chinese collection in each neighborhood library location. You
will create, compile and contribute to booklists, bibliographies, pathfinders,
training guides and Web resources for adults in both Chinese and English in all
different formats including digital.</span><br></p>

<p class=""><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">You will work with supervisors at the library branches to assess
staff training needs and develop training and mentoring plans for each
location.</span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">  </span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">You will train, mentor and
orient all reference staff in current resources, including library electronic
resources. You will provide instruction to staff around digital content,
electronic content (e-content), and electronic books (e-books). Trainings will
be conducted in groups and one-on-one with staff</span><br></p>

<p class=""><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">You will use your project management skills to research, develop
and initiate project ideas, which will include preparing project proposals,
developing communication plans, and making recommendations to managers. Part of
your job will include participating and leading work groups and committees in
quality and process improvements.</span><br></p>

<p class=""><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">As the Bilingual Chinese Regional Librarian, you will work in
collaboration with a team of fellow regional librarians, branch staff, and
programming and outreach staff to plan, prepare and implement adult programs
and outreach plans for the </span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%;background-image:initial;background-repeat:initial">four
</span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">library branches in your region, focusing on culturally-specific
services to the Chinese community. You will build and maintain relationships
with patrons, neighborhood organizations and the greater population served by
Multnomah County Library in your region.</span><br></p>

<p class=""><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif;font-size:12pt;line-height:115%">You will spend some of your time on the reference desk at each of
the library branch responding to information requests that are in-person, over
the phone, via chat, social media, and other virtual media in both Chinese and
